Your First Private Yoga Session!
What To Expect In Your First Private Yoga Session
Learning new things can be scary and challenging as we worry whether we’ll be good, and if the new thing will meet our expectations.
But you don’t have to fret because I’m friendly and hopefully disarming, and I will always make what I teach you very accessible. You don’t need to buy any equipment before we begin – I bring everything you need to your home or office.
Before meeting you for the first time, I will ask you to complete an online health intake questionnaire.
This information helps me design our first session.
When we meet in person, we’ll discuss your health history and your specific goals for the session, as well as subsequent sessions.
From there I’ll teach you the most common YOGA BREATH TECHNIQUE.
And then we BEGIN TO MOVE.
As the session continues, I’ll be watching you closely. Observing what is easy for you, what is challenging, and also what you have a natural affinity for.
I believe in designing wellness programs around movements people enjoy. They might be a bit challenging, but not so far out of your comfort zone that you feel overwhelmed.
Throughout the session, if anything feels too much or uncomfortable, you will tell me and we’ll modify.
It’s an interactive process between student and teacher. I’ll encourage you to ask any questions and tell me where you ‘feel’ a pose.
After the session, we might chat a little about equipment, how your body currently feels, and what you’d like to do next time.
If you are rehabbing a specific injury and would like a recap of your entire session, I email that to you within 24 hours. Many of my clients find this helpful to take their yoga on the road with them!
