5 Min Deep Rest Meditation
5 Min Deep Rest Meditation
Most of us can spare 5 minutes in a day.
When I teach meditation to beginners, we start with just 5 minutes of guided meditation. Don’t be intimidated by people who say you need to meditate for an hour + to experience benefits. That’s untrue.
You will experience benefits from just 5 minutes of meditation daily, but aim for 20.
I have yet to meet someone whom I cannot teach to meditate.
Students are surprised to find these 5 minutes pass effortlessly, and they often feel they could do more.
To celebrate Day 5 of the ‘Intro To Yoga’ Challenge, here’s a 5 Min Deep Rest Meditation you can do anywhere.
There are no special clothes or equipment needed.
You can be in any position that feels comfortable.
Meditation is typically practiced in a seated, upright position but if you are unable to be in that position comfortably, find one that suits you better.
Meditation is about finding a style and a teacher that you connect with, and making the practice fit you.
A good teacher will introduce you to many different styles (guided, mantra-based, loving-kindness, sound, Zen).
Meditation is not one size fits all and if you have tried to meditate before but feel like you’ve failed, don’t despair. You just need to find the right teacher and style.
Try this 5 Min Deep Rest Meditation. I have others coming up next week in the 12 Day Intro To Yoga Challenge.
Let me know if you have any particular questions about meditation and always feel free to reach me here directly about private meditation instruction.
