All About The Throat Chakra

All About The Throat Chakra

The world needs your authentic expression.

I feel strongly that every human being has unique gifts that, when realized, bring about a deep sense of inner fulfillment.

It took me half a lifetime to find mine, and I’m passionate about helping people find theirs.

Private Yoga Instructor Santa Monica Los Angeles All About The Throat ChakraThis week I had multiple discussions about this chakra so it inspired a post.

The throat chakra, or 5th chakra in the chakra system (vissudha) can be thought of as the communication center. It is the seat of your ability to express yourself.

Self expression can take many forms—from asserting yourself in a debate to manifesting a grand, creative vision. Expressing ourselves is key to feeling autonomous and unique within our own lives.

Associated with the color blue, an unbalanced throat chakra can manifest as the person who never shuts up, domineering in attitude and language, or someone who swallows their truest sentiments and feels unseen.

Both imbalances can lead to feelings of loneliness and disconnection.

Having a balanced throat chakra is especially important for creative people who need to bring their inner visions into manifested reality.

How To Balance Your Throat Chakra

The first thing to do is befriend the sound of your own voice. I mean, literally.

It doesn’t have to be singing. You can hum, chant, make nonsense baby sounds – it really doesn’t matter what type of sounds you’re making.

Once you’re comfortable with this, play with any of the suggestions below. Find something that feels pleasurable which ensures you’ll keep up with it.

There are far too many ‘shoulds’ in life, and balancing your throat chakra needn’t be another ‘task’ on your to-do list!
