Day 7 of the Intro to Yoga Challenge finds us in meditation.

Oh, what a luxury to have 15 min to ourselves.

Body Scan meditation involves placing our attention – at a micro level – on various regions of the body.

It’s like taking a 15 minute guided tour of your body – no judgments, not changing anything – just becoming aware of sensations in your body in this moment.

I often teach guided meditations in my private yoga sessions because I’ve found this style of meditation to be the most accessible to beginners.

Anecdotally, I have more clients start snoring in Body Scan meditations than any other style of meditation. Now sleep is not the aim of meditation, but when meditations are practiced laying down in Savasana, it can be a common occurrence.
