Corporate Laughter Yoga
Are you an event planner or human resources professional looking for a fun, teambuilding, morale-boosting icebreaker that EVERYONE can participate in?
Consider Laughter Yoga.
Laughter Yoga was created by physician Madan Kataria.
Studies have shown that laughing, whether spontaneous or generated in a class, has ENORMOUS health benefits, productivity benefits and bonds people together! More here.
The main reason I like Laughter Yoga as a corporate event or in the workplace, is that it is INCLUSIVE!
If you offer traditional yoga at an event or office, only a fraction of people will attend- -those comfortable with the concept and who are in good health.
[I know this first hand. Before I started Happy Heart Wellness, I worked at a hedge fund where yoga was offered. Out of 100+ employees, only 2-3 of us went. That low subscription rate excludes an entire demographic in your organization; it’s also hard to justify the class expense to the controller.]
You reach MORE people with a fun, monotony-breaker that changes how people feel in their bodies (mood and nervous system) and takes less than 30 minutes.
FOR EVENT PLANNERS — WHY I LOVE LAUGHTER YOGA AS A CORPORATE EVENT
Inclusive and non-intimidating! EVERYONE can attend as it can be chair-based or standing.
No equipment necessary like mats, blocks or straps. This means you don’t have to pay a mat rental fee to someone like me, or purchase your own mats just for the event and schlep them.
No special clothes – can be done in conference attire/business casual.
Easy to program. Typical sessions are 15-30 minutes.
The instructor can be anywhere. This form of yoga translates GREAT to Zoom.
Laughter makes employees more productive in the workplace.
FOR HUMAN RESOURCE PROFESSIONALS – WHY I LOVE LAUGHTER YOGA FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES
TEAM BUILDING – unites people across remote locations.
Boosts PRODUCTIVITY (see resource list below).
All ages and health statuses can attend.
Non-intimidating!
Easy to program 15 minutes around lunch!
Laughter makes employees more productive in the workplace.
