Full Body Sigh
Full Body Sigh
Remember these spidery scalp scratchers?
The full body tingle..?
They were wonderful but you had to have someone do it TO you; operating that thing solo was not the same!
Enter, Meridian Pressure Brushes
I’ve been working with these for about half a year since I discovered them on the IG account of Acupuncturist, Dr. Laurel.
They are wooden combs, some call them brushes, with nubs inserted into a flexible rubber type of canvas.
On the back of the wood is a handle, either canvas or elastic that you slide your hands through. [I prefer the elastic.]
With the brushes attached to your palms, you’re now free to engage in a myriad of self-care practices related to the meridians of the body. This is from Chinese Medicine philosophy’s belief that disease originates from imbalances in chi/life force energy and blocked meridians. There are so many awesome practices in Dr. Laurel’s lives! Highly recommend.
My favorite way to use these brushes is on the scalp.
[There is a TCM practice called Scalp Scraping, but I feel using the brushes is much nicer.]
Simply place the brush at the hairline and wiggle. Carefully remove them, so as not to pull or tear your hair, and re-set, then wiggle.
Work your way through your entire scalp. Make sure to get behind the ears, as well as the third eye and forehead.
You can even add brushing along the side of the neck (vagus nerve) and jawline. This area is particularly helpful in bringing blood flow to the face and removing puffiness.
In this video I demonstrate using the meridian pressure brushes on the scalp to create an instant FULL BODY SIGH. Everyone I’ve introduced this to really enjoys it.
When you try it, let me know what you think.
Namaste,
Catherine & Satya
P.S. Dogs also really enjoy these brushes.
