This is a great 8 min Lower Body Relaxation sequence to release your lower body and prepare for sleep.
It can be done entirely in bed and requires no equipment.
Sitting at desks and in cars creates sub-optimal restrictions in the entire body. [For upper body release, check out the T-Spine Mobility Video.]
It’s not that these sitting postures are inherently toxic; it’s that when we’re in them we rarely move. It’s actually the stagnation and immobility of these postural habits that locks up the body.
Sitting for extended periods can manifest in lower back pain, tight hamstrings, nightly leg cramps and compromised posture from shortened hip flexors. Or you may have none of the above but just a vague sense of heaviness in the legs, hips and glutes and reduced range of motion.
