Easy Posture Refresh

Easy Posture Refresh

Most of us can identify with leaning into a screen or a steering wheel.

Over time, this contributes to a rounded upper back and a tight chest.

It will also diminish your overall height and breathing efficiency.

Poor posture can even make you feel mopey and slightly depressed.

Therefore I cannot recommend this simple stretch enough.

Everyone can do it, and all you need is a canvas yoga strap. Unlike other thoracic spinal openers I have posted about, you do not need to get on the floor for this.

[Coincidentally, I posted about this stretch on Instagram and then drove 2200 miles to another state. I used this stretch on my trip to release driving tension. It really works!]

All you need is a **standard 8′ canvas yoga strap.

**If you are broad shouldered or over 6′ tall, use a 10′ canvas yoga strap.

VIDEO HOW TO HERE:

  1. Thread a canvas yoga strap behind your back, high into your armpits.

  2. Even out the ends.

  3. Toss one strap over a shoulder, then the other.

  4. It will look like you’re wearing a backpack.

  5. Cross the straps behind you, forming an ‘X’.

  6. Grab the ends with 90 degree arms and pull down slightly, and open up – like you’re offering platters to the Right and Left.

  7. Repeat 3-5 x.

  8. Remove strap and enjoy the space across your chest!

If you tried this, let me know what you think.

I absolutely love this stretch.
