The ABCD of Neck Pain

The ABCD of Neck Pain

Since I moved to a colder climate, I’ve made a loyal, new friend – Neck Pain.

After trying all sorts of stretches and modalities for this, I’ve come up with something that is consistently helpful.

I call it the ABCD of Neck Pain and it consists of 4 exercises.

The key is to do them all in a R E L A X E D fashion.

Let me say that another way: you want stay within a range of motion that does not involve pain above a 2 or 3 (out of 10).

These can be done sitting or standing.

Try to sit/stand upright with shoulders down.

Perform each 20-40x

The ABCD of Neck Pain

A: Nose Left & Right (Affirmation: “I do not consent to this pain.”)

B: Nose Up & Down (Affirmation: “Yes, I am pain-free.”)

C: Tick Tocks – (ear to shoulder )

D: Wobble head – the loosest neck circles ever

You can also try the MFR (myofascial) Neck Release explained here and here.

When you try these, let me know how you feel after.

Namaste,

Catherine
