The SILLY ART of THANK YOUs AND I LOVE YOUs

The Silly Art of Thank Yous and I Love Yous

I don’t know about you but I’ve heard plenty on the POWER OF GRATITUDE to uplift your mood and brighten your life.

You’re supposed to keep a journal and record all the things you’re thankful for. Over time, this daily reckoning with positivity is supposed to change your brain chemistry, and hence your outlook on life.

But doesn’t that little journal seem like a LOT OF WORK?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m the queen of discipline, but when I’m down, I want FAST RESULTS. I don’t have time to endure 30 days of darkness before getting a glimpse of the light.

So what if I told you there was this one little thing you could do which would change your mood INSTANTLY? And it didn’t involve anything you had to buy or ingest? Would you do it? Even if it sounded wacky?

Okay, here goes.

All you have to do is begin to say, ‘Thank you’  andI love you‘ to everything.

I mean EVERYTHING. The sillier and wackier, the better.

THANK YOU WATER (for washing my body in this shower)

THANK YOU TOOTHPASTE (for being minty and refreshing)

THANK YOU TOILET (for taking away yucky stuff)

THANK YOU SCIATICA (for reminding me I have a body and sometimes it hurts)

THANK YOU ARGUMENT (with boss, bf/gf, parent, friend for giving me an opportunity to GROW)

I GUARANTEE YOU that in the moments you are THANKING AND LOVING you will not be down. Your mood will be uplifted. Your day will brighten.

Humor me and try it, and share your thoughts below.

I’d love to hear from you!
